Welcome to The Queen's Club

2017 Aegon Championships Finals

Feliciano Lopez re-wrote the history books while Jamie Murray ensured Centre Court saw a British winner on finals Sunday at The Queen’s Club.

Lopez became the oldest winner at the Aegon Championships in the Open Era with a thrilling three-set victory over No.4 seed Marin Cilic in the singles final.

Murray and partner Bruno Soares then powered through their doubles final against French pairing Julien Benneteau and Edouard Roger-Vasselin, just an hour after finishing off a semi-final that was delayed overnight due to rain.

The 35-year-old Lopez battled back after dropping the first set to defeat Cilic 4-6, 7-6(2), 7-6(8) in two hours and 30 minutes, with the final set tiebreaker going down as one of the greatest ever witnessed on Centre Court.

Cilic found himself the highest-ranked man left in the draw as early as Tuesday after the shock exits of top seed Andy Murray, No.2 Stan Wawrinka, and No.3 Milos Raonic.

The Croatian had been broken just once on his way to the final - in his last-four meeting with Gilles Muller - and he was unbreakable once again on Sunday as he fired down a total of 22 aces.

But Lopez produced some sensational tennis when it mattered most in the second and third set tiebreakers, riding a wave of support from the energetic crowd to upset the odds and win one of the biggest titles of his career.
